I have grown tired of brooding and have started journaling all the things I love during the week.

My favorite things this week. Here they are…

Unicorns — But especially this unicorn pool float. No 50-year-old has spent a better $30 in her life!

Twitter Lists — The only thing better than Twitter lists? Reading my Twitter lists on the Flipboard app!

Air Conditioning — When you get lap sweat from sitting on your front porch drinking coffee at 6 a.m., you have a very special kind of appreciation for the guy who invented air conditioning. I spend too much time dwelling on this every summer — but it cannot be emphasized too much. Thank you, Mr. Carrier!

Dyson Animal — I don’t know how long this love affair can last, but for right here, right now, this cordless vacuum is one of my favorite things.

Learning New Things — “Agency bias is a cognitive tendency to think of individuals’ actions as the primary cause of an outcome. When we see something going wrong, we often ask, “Who is to blame?” Agency bias predisposes us to look for explanations in people’s choices, rather than in the chances they’re given. Instead of asking, “why don’t you…” with judgment, you can instead say, “I wonder why…” When health care professionals learn to focus more on life chances than they do on life choices, they find that asking “why?” can lead to a fundamental reorientation of their perspective on their patients.”

Pop Tart Crisps — They are like little perfect Frosted Strawberry Pop Tarts…with much fewer calories.

The Beach — We finally got our beach trip in, and I’m a much nicer person now. While on the beach, we were sitting near two young men with a really loud speaker and (thankfully) great taste in music too. One gentleman kept saying to the other, “Play that Glass Animals shit. The good shit.” This was the good shit. He finally played it. (See… pretty good taste in music!)

Linens from Bamboo — Our condo had a coverlet on the bed made from bamboo. I had one waiting at my house by the time we made it back home. It is so soft!

Snow Cones — Frost Bites in Orange Beach had a snow cone with soft-serve ice cream on the bottom. I insisted on having one every day of our vacation. (It was called the Piggly Wiggly. I think they were trying to get through to me!)

Facebook Memories — To remember all of the things that made me happy this week years and years (and years) ago!
